ART DIRECTION + IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES

Deseré Pressey is a multidisciplinary artist and creative director whose work extends beyond the canvas and into the atmosphere of a space. Through art direction, installation, programming, and thoughtful spatial design, she creates immersive, multi-sensory environments that evoke wonder, beauty, connection, and a sense of the sacred. Her work is rooted in an intuitive understanding of how light, sound, art, architecture, and human presence can come together to shape the way a space is experienced.

Whether transforming a private residence, responding to an existing exhibition, or creating an experience within a gallery or historic landscape, Deseré approaches each environment as a living composition. What may ultimately feel effortless and inviting is created through careful artistic consideration—each element working together to draw people out of the ordinary and into deeper connection with themselves, with one another, and with the moment.

For Deseré, gathering is an art form, and an opportunity to create the conditions for people to soften, become curious, and remember the sacred, wild aliveness that exists beneath the surface of everyday life.

Deseré has conceived, art-directed, installed, and hosted experiences within

some of Calgary’s most distinctive cultural, architectural, and artistic settings.

SELECTED PROJECTS INCLUDE:

• Design/Activation/Host - Dearly DepARTed Immersive Arts Experience in Calgary Upper Mount Royal castle for

Maillot Homes - A Fundraiser benefiting Highbanks Society.

• Design/Installation - Immersive art environment within Ruberto Ostberg Gallery for a Beakerhead community event 'Wild Constructs'

• Design/Fabrication/Installation - Suspended forest installation for immersive fine-dining experience + documentary

presented for Chaîne des Rôtisseurs at WinSport Calgary.

• Design/Promotion/Host - Private concert at the historic A.C. Leighton homestead and launch of Feather Art Gallery.

• Design/Installation/Promotion/Host - After hours adult figure-drawing event with live music, spoken word poetry and nude models within the BODY WORLDS Vitale exhibition - at TELUS Spark.

• Design/Install/Promotion/Host - Live music and figure-drawing experience beneath Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon installation - at Contemporary Calgary

• Collaboration/Curriculum Design/Presented/Hosted - AuARTS - Textile Department to develop experiential programming in which students created original work for installation within a multi-sensory exhibition within the ART Castle residency for Little Duck Gallery

• Founder/Director/Ongoing host - OFFBEATfiguredrawing - Multi-sensory events comprised of live music, art installation, models, photographers and spoken word poets.

the Calgary Herald, and other local media. Images captured by curated photographers within spaces she has designed have been featured in publications such as VOGUE ITALIA, Freq.Magazine and Avenue Magazine to name a few.
